Here TV Greenlights Philaye Films Sci-Fi Series, "Jamaal: Love Code", for Season 1!

2026 will be off to an exciting start for Philaye Films and Here TV! After licensing Philaye Films’ award-winning Sci-Fi short film “Jamaal” in late 2024, Here TV has greenlit Season 1 of a new Sci-Fi series created by Philip Johnson! With “Jamaal” being one of the top trending titles on Here TV over this past year, many on social media have commented that they want to see it developed into a full series/feature film. We’re excited to bring a fresh spin-off futuristic anthology series to screens: “Jamaal: Love Code”!

“Jamaal: Love Code” is an anthology series exploring the intersection of futuristic AI innovations and Black, gay dating. Inspired by “Jamaal”, Season 1 of “Jamaal: Love Code” will bring the audience 4 22-minute episodes, 4 different plots and endless intrigue into the futuristic world of AI-human dating fusions. Similarly to Black Mirror, each episode will have completely different plots that explore different nuances in the futuristic technology.

The series was created by Philip Johnson. Here TV and Philip will Executive Produce the project, alongside Producers David Milbern, Kevin Bobby, Sophia McPherson and J’Lamar Nichols. The 4 episodes were written by Philip Johnson, Kevyn Fong and Taariq Muhammad. We are in the process of casting, building our team and preparing for production beginning in January 2026 in Los Angeles, CA to bring the show to life!

"Jamaal: Love Code" will premiere on Here TV in July 2026. The show will be available to watch on Here TV’s app as well as over a dozen cable providers including Hulu, Prime Video, YouTube TV, Xfinity, and more!
