The Donovan’s Venom Brings Fine Arts to Impoverished Communities
Written By: Philip Johnson
For a poverty-stricken child or senior living in a nursing home, there are often more dark hours than light ones. The arts, however, help bring spirit-fueling light and love to anyone’s life, regardless of circumstance. But what if you can’t afford the fine arts? This is where The Donovan’s Venom comes in.
The Donovan's Venom, INC. 501(c)(3) strives to make the fine arts accessible and affordable to those communities who need them most. The Donovan’s Venom utilizes artistic, comedic, and musical channels to bring soothing to children hospitals, hospices, shelters for the homeless, nursing homes, and various other entities full of people in need of assuagement. They provide FREE music education and holiday resources, produce FREE annual benefit concerts/shows, and more for impoverished community members.
Covid-19 has caused the arts to be further slashed from school budgets, so The Donovan’s Venom needs your help to enable them to continue serving the kids! Music has been shown to have multiple positive cognitive and physiological effects on humans. During this pandemic, it is more important than ever that we protect the mental health and development of our youth and also seniors. They need our help more than ever.
The Donovan’s Venom currently has a running GoFundMe campaign, in efforts to raise money to fund their programming for the kids and seniors:
